Lakeview Terrace movie review

   Posted by: Hari   in Music

In its overall shape and message, “Lakeview Terrace” is a conventional suspense thriller, but the details kick it up a notch. There’s a racial element that’s unexpected. There’s a narrative strategy that’s slightly innovative. And then there’s Samuel L. Jackson’s face and everything he can do with it: the impassive look. The burning-holes-through-concrete stare. The smile that’s the opposite of reassuring. And the laugh that says, “You’re so dead.” There may be no actor working today with a better sense of how to use his face and what each expression communicates to an audience.

Directed but not scripted by Neil LaBute, the film continues LaBute’s ongoing investigation into the sheer hell that is other people. We first meet Abel (Jackson) as he’s waking up on a typical weekday. He says his prayers, gets the kids up and serves them breakfast. He endures wise remarks from his teenage daughter, then spends some time folding the kids’ laundry. He’s a widowed dad and seems like a nice enough guy. And then the new neighbors move in.

It’s a nice touch: LaBute shows us the new neighbors’ van pull up in one unbroken shot from Abel’s perspective. The neighbors are a source of mystery and of mild consternation to him - and thus to us, as well. And then somehow, seamlessly, and very early into the story, LaBute and screenwriters David Loughery and Howard Korder make the switch: There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the neighbors. It’s Abel who’s a bit strange. He might even be a little crazy. You know, with suppressed rage.

So right off the top, the entertainment value is guaranteed. We have a movie that explores what it would be like to move into a nice neighborhood and find that your next-door neighbor is Jackson in his angry mode. But no, it’s even better than that: Not only is Jackson angry, but he’s also a Los Angeles police officer, which means he carries a gun and is regarded as a citizen beyond reproach. And he has floodlights all over his property, so that the lights shine through the bedroom of his neighbors’ house. And he won’t turn them off.

Apple 4G Nano - a short review

Posted by: Hari   in General, Music, Mylife

Finally i got Apple nano with me now. A short review about it,

The good:
The fourth-generation iPod Nano is more attractive and colorful than its predecessor and includes Apple’s new Genius playlist tool, a tilt sensor, and accessibility features for the visually impaired.

The bad:
To use the new Nano, you must upgrade to Apple’s iTunes 8 software with its laundry list of hardware requirements; the rounded screen invites glare;

The bottom line:
The fourth-generation iPod Nano is easy on the eyes and the wallet, and you can’t beat its hardware and user interface design. Just be sure to give iTunes 8 a spin before committing

Download Evanescence, Enigma.

Posted by: Hari   in Downloads, Music

These are some must heard music. Recently I’ve been looking for good songs over net. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any good songs in Tamil. It has become worse than anything. Where is Rahman, Yuvan, Harris? I can’t wait a long time for their music. Rahman so ridiculous has reduced his composing in Tamil and doing other language.

Recently I found Tamil music directors lifts tune from other language. Shockingly Yuvan and Rahman are one of the victims. Click YSR .  Click ARR.I don’t want to talk about other music directors because it is not worth discussing about. Now I’ve downloaded all the lifted(inspired) tunes and started hearing it. It doesn’t matter they get inspired by other tunes but the thing is their tune must remain original. Just have a look at these links and know the condition of Tamil music. Simply I’ve got switched to western music. Lot of choices, new, not lifted, nice to hear. Here are few songs which are must heard and which impressed me a lot.

Staring with Evanescence:

 Fallen

The Open Door [Not like other album except very few songs are nice]

 In the Shadow

 Origin

 Justice

 Evanescence-EP

Now Enigma

 Enigma-86

 Enigma-Voyageur

 Enigma-A Posteriori

 Enigma-Inspired&Remixed-2007

 Enigma-The Dusted Variations-2006

 Enigma-Valley Of Dreams-2006

I have downloaded all but haven’t heard everything yet. But I liked almost every song of Enigma, It sounds cool. All the above are direct link to download. Just click and download and enjoy the songs.

Akon and his best.

Picture of Akon

I definitely listen to Akon! He’s really one of a kind! I’m a great fan of his songs. He started his first song, “I’m Locked up” . I played “Lonely”,”Smack that” continuously here. It was nice, though i was not a big fan him before. But after hearing “i wanna love you” feat Snoop dogg i’m now a Great fan of him. It’s amazing how he is all over the music industry joining aside with other artists like eminem, Gwen Stefani, Snoop Dogg. He has such outgoing lyrics that just takes you and moves you and then set you down again inside another world. If you guys haven’t heard it yet download it soon. here is the link of “i wanna love you“. I’m also a big fan of evanescence too. Soon il post the link of her songs and reviews about it.

Yuvan my favorite.

   Posted by: Hari   in Music

I’m a great fan of Yuvan shankar raja for his outstanding music through out. I never stop listing to his music. But some of my friends keep on tell he lifts music from other language album. Really i feel sorry for them. It is no more called lifting the music. It is all about inspired by that music. Even if you see the tune remains original. I would also like to mention that even Rahman, Harris , and almost all MD has inspired by other language music and I’d never blame on them because composing music loved by all is really a tough job. I would just appreciate there music whatever people say about their music. I give damn to the people who says yuvan has lifted tune. He remains great on his virtue.
